Margo is a valued lecturer on the subjects of public procurement, recovery of structural fund grants, commercial law and contract law. Margo has experience in participating as a lecturer at Äripäev seminars and at courses in Addenda Training Centre and training centre “Punane Puu”.

Experience
  • Assisting the Estonian forestry company AS Lemeks in day-to-day commercial law matters, in preparing contracts and in disputes. Margo has advised Estonian Plywood AS on the construction of a plywood factory and the acquisition of equipment.
  • Advising Farmers’ Cooperative KEVILI on matters regarding commercial and contract law on an ongoing basis. Margo has also advised on the establishment of Estonia’s largest modern grain terminals in Roodevälja and Rõngu, providing the client with full legal counselling and being involved in all of the issues concerning the construction and funding of the establishment of the terminals. Rules governing the relations between the members of the cooperative and a financing scheme suitable for the bank were developed for the client. In addition, all the relevant documents for the project were prepared and the cooperative was supported in negotiations.
  • Advising Tartu City Government on issues related to construction contracts and the use of EU grants, including successful representation of the client in administrative court proceedings against Enterprise Estonia (EAS) regarding the legitimacy of recovery of EU structural fund grants.
  • Advising on the transfer of the majority stake in OÜ Ha Serv, Estonian leading producer of sauna products.
  • Advising on the reorganisation proceedings of one of the largest construction companies in South Estonia with 75 employees. In the reorganisation process, the claims of 231 creditors for the total amount of 1.2 million euros were transformed, thereby saving the continuity of the company’s business.
  • Successful representation of a water supply company in a dispute arising from a FIDIC construction contract in the Court of Arbitration of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The dispute concerned matters related to the performance of the construction contract, the enforceability of the guarantee of compliance, and legal issues related to compensation for damage.
  • Advising clients on the entry into contracts for construction of Tartu’s eastern roundabout worth around 65 million euros. The advice included a legal opinion on potential risks associated with construction and recommendations for the implementation of the project, as well as preparations for the expropriation of the land needed to carry out the construction project, and representation of clients in negotiations with landowners.
  • Representing various public sector clients in preparations for and conduct of public procurement procedures and in resolving the related disputes. Legal assistance involved the preparation of tender documentation, ongoing assistance in communication with the register and tenderers, participation in the Procurement Committee’s work and legal oversight of the performance of procurement contracts.
