Piret has been providing legal advice since 1998. In addition to civil and administrative litigation, she specialises in real estate and construction matters, advising clients on application for planning and building permits, conclusion of real estate transactions, and dispute resolution. Her Master’s degree in Business Administration enables Piret to assist clients with business and management issues. Particularly noteworthy is Piret’s unique competence in the field of education.

Experience
  • Representing the non-profit association ARB, Estonian Nature Conservation Society and Estonian Geographical Society in litigation concerning the choice of the route of the high-speed railway Rail Baltic in county planning
  • Advising and representing various developers and landowners in connection with several wind farms in Ida-Viru County and Western Estonia (Varja, Päite-Vaivina, Purtse, Tootsi, Aulepa, Varese harbour)
  • Advising and representing the developer on obtaining a permit for the development of an offshore wind farm and on involvement of investors
  • Advising clients on matters relating to development of harbours (planning, permits for roads and other infrastructure)
  • Representing developers’ interests in construction and planning matters and relations with the City of Tallinn
  • Contributing as an expert of real estate law to the project “Tallinn Urban Regeneration: Land Use Review and Development Partnership Models” commissioned by the EBRD
  • Advising and representing AS Kunda Nordic Tsement in various projects and disputes. AS Kunda Nordic Tsement is a company with a history of 149 years and is currently part of the international HeidelbergCement Group, which employs approximately 59,000 people in 60 countries.
  • Advising victims of the MS Estonia disaster and their relatives in a dispute with the Government of the Republic and the Ministry of Justice about initiating an investigation into the causes of the shipwreck
  • Advising private schools on financing issues and legislation
